Wow! February was a whirlwind of a month. We left out of Nashville on January 31st, and arrived back home early in the morning of the 27th! We traveled somewhere in the neighborhood of 8,000 miles on our journey, and saw pretty much the entire sate of Texas (sorry El Paso, maybe next time). We traveled through fog and rain and almost died driving in a hail storm outside of College Station at 2:30am. We survived the dark loneliness of an 18 hour van ride and saw Texas sunsets to beautiful to describe. We were on a mission to introduce ourselves to all the wonderful radio stations we could find. In the process we met a slew of nice folks whom we can’t wait to see again, and our song “That Girl Tonight” has officially entered the Texas Music Chart at #47! Whooo!!!
Highlights: We had the first time pleasure of hearing our song on the radio outside of Abilene, got to tour the Blue Bell Creamery (Brett almost died of excitement) in Brenham, witnessed the Haboob in Lubbock, ate some of the best BBQ in the country, got to grace the stages of Luchenback TX, Gruene Hall and Floores country store, received our first ever endorsement from Tony Meeks at Zither Instruments, and got to live out the lyrics, “when the sun goes down in Austin TX, drive out to the place they call the Oasis. It’s a frozen (Truck had his on the rocks) Margarita with some salt on the glass….”.
All in all, we’d say it was a success, or at least a blast!
We will be headed back to Texas in a few weeks, but for now we are going to enjoy some much needed down time. Please enjoy the pics of our adventures. And don’t be afraid to call your local radio station and request “That Girl Tonight”!!!
Please enjoy a slideshow of our adventures
